Event Description

The ASEAN member states are committed collectively to raising the share of renewable energy in the region’s energy mix to 23% by 2025. According to Global Energy Monitor (GEM) report, Solar and wind capacity in the ASEAN region increased by 20% in 2023, bringing the total to more than 28 gigawatts (GW). An even larger 220GW pipeline of new utility-scale wind and solar capacity has been announced, or entered pre-construction or construction stages, according to GEM’s analysis, though only 6GW of this is currently being built. While the supply side is evolving quickly, existing grid infrastructures development are lagging behind and facing critical challenges to accommodate renewable energy integration, incurring regular power supply interruptions during the hot season. Upgrading current grid network and design future-proof ones is of importance to the region's decarbonization and economic growth.

Topics to be covered:

  • Solar pv (utility scale, C&I, floating solar pv, etc

  • Onshore / Offshore wind energy; Smart grid / micro-grid  & BESS technologies

  • Digitalization

  • Green hydrogen and future fuels

  • Project financing and investment

  • Market overview and policy updates
