ICW AND BUILDXPO MALAYSIA 2026 PREVIEW: NEW PLATFORMS, IDEAS AND INNOVATIONS TAKE CENTRE STAGE
Expanded content programme, new visitor experiences and first-ever GAFA co-location set to create a more connected built environment platform
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 SEPTEMBER 2026 – The construction and built environment industry is set for an expanded experience this November as International Construction Week (ICW), now in its 28th edition, and the International Building and Construction Exhibition (BuildXpo Malaysia), now in its fourth edition, come together for ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia 2026, alongside the first-ever co-location of Glasstech Asia & Fenestration Asia (GAFA) 2026.

Bhd.; and Ms. Annie Suwapit, Project Manager, Glasstech Asia & Fenestration Asia (GAFA) 2026.
Taking place from 10 to 12 November 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, this year’s edition is anchored by the theme “Beyond Limits” and the positioning tagline, “The Industry Platform for Knowledge, Innovation and Growth”.
Building on last year’s success of more than 15,000 trade visitors, 210 exhibitors from 11 countries and RM1.41 billion in projected business transactions, the 2026 edition is targeting 250 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, 17,000 trade visitors and RM1.5 billion in projected trade value.
CIDB Malaysia Chief Executive, Sr Ahmad Farrin Mokhtar, said: “When we launched ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia 2026 earlier this year, we set out an ambition for the industry to go
‘Beyond Limits’ – to move beyond conventional approaches, embrace innovation and strengthen collaboration.

International Construction Week (ICW), now in its 28th edition, and BuildXpo Malaysia, in its fourth edition, will come together for ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia 2026, alongside the inaugural co-location of Glasstech Asia & Fenestration Asia (GAFA) 2026. Sr Ahmad Farrin Mokhtar, Chief Executive, CIDB Malaysia (middle) officiated the Preview at MITEC. With him are (from left) Ms. Jessie Tan, Managing Director, Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.; Ts. Naidatul Mazidah Latif, Senior General Manager, Policy & Corporate Sector, CIDB Malaysia; Mr. Richard Teo, Executive Chairman, Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.; and Ms. Annie Suwapit, Project Manager, Glasstech Asia & Fenestration Asia (GAFA) 2026.
“But transformation cannot happen through policy or technology alone. It requires people who are willing to learn, organisations that are prepared to adapt, and an industry that is willing to share knowledge and collaborate across traditional boundaries. This is where ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia has an important role to play. It provides a platform where the industry’s aspirations, ideas, technologies and capabilities can come together and where we can move beyond discussing transformation to explore how it can be implemented in practice,” he said.
Expanded Programme for 2026
This year’s edition places a stronger emphasis on knowledge sharing, technical excellence and industry collaboration through an expanded programme of conferences, seminars and new visitor experiences.
The programme will feature the Asia Construct Conference, BAMBUilds’26 Talk & Dialogue, Global Opportunities Seminar, and Impact Change Through Construction (ICTC) Conference, alongside The Build Series, a curated platform for technical insights, innovation showcases and thought leadership discussions. New features including Build ProPass and Build360 will further connect conferences, exhibitions, business opportunities and professional development into a more integrated visitor experience.

CIDB Malaysia Chief Executive Sr Ahmad Farrin Mokhtar said ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia 2026 will play an important role in bringing the construction industry’s aspirations, ideas, technologies and capabilities together, while creating a platform to translate industry transformation from discussion into practical implementation.
Qube Integrated Malaysia Executive Chairman, Mr. Richard Teo, said: “BuildXpo Malaysia has always been about connecting businesses with technologies, products and solutions. But this year, we are putting even greater emphasis on the experience of learning, discovering and engaging… to make every visit to ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia more purposeful and valuable.
We are (also) bringing together a strong mix of conferences and seminars covering different dimensions of the construction industry, (demonstrating how) ICW is no longer simply about what is being built today; it is increasingly about how we will build tomorrow – the technologies we adopt, the skills we develop, the ideas we exchange, and the partnerships we create.

Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Executive Chairman Mr. Richard Teo said BuildXpo Malaysia continues to serve as a platform connecting businesses with the latest technologies, products and solutions, enabling industry players to discover opportunities, strengthen capabilities and drive innovation.
“Ultimately, the success of ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia should not be measured only in numbers. It should be measured by the connections made, the technologies discovered, the knowledge exchanged, the partnerships formed and, most importantly, the progress that follows after everyone leaves MITEC,” said Teo.
GAFA Makes its Debut Alongside ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia
A major milestone for this year’s edition is the first-ever co-location of Glasstech Asia & Fenestration Asia (GAFA) 2026, organised by MMI Asia Pte Ltd.
Marking the 22nd edition of Glasstech Asia and the ninth edition of Fenestration Asia, GAFA will bring specialised expertise in glass, façades and building envelope technologies into the wider construction ecosystem, with more than 250 exhibitors, 5,000 visitors, participation from 50 countries and regions, 300 international hosted buyers and 50 speakers expected.
Beyond the exhibition and conference programme, ICW & BuildXpo Malaysia 2026 will also feature QUEST Day 2026, technical visits to Carcosa Seri Negara, Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, and Pos Malaysia Headquarters Kuala Lumpur, the CIDB-CLPM-ISOSB 2nd ASEAN Crane Lifting Planning Competition, and the MSSA Open Ideas Competition.
The event builds on the momentum of ICW Borneo 2026 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, which attracted more than 1,000 visitors, further strengthening ICW's role in connecting construction innovation, business opportunities and industry collaboration across Malaysia.
Driving the Industry Beyond Limits
Construction professionals, policymakers, developers, manufacturers, consultants, architects and technology providers are invited to participate in ICW, BuildXpo Malaysia and GAFA 2026 from 10 to 12 November 2026 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
