Jakarta, 12 August 2026 — Entering the second day of Indo Water, PT Napindo Media Ashatama (Napindo) continues to present a range of strategic forums as part of the exhibition series held concurrently with Indo Waste & Recycling, Indo Renergy & Electric, Indo Security, Indo Firex, and Indonesia International Smart City 2026 Expo & Forum. The cross-sector exhibitions once again bring together government representatives, industry players, academics, associations, and strategic partners on a collaborative platform showcasing solutions across water and wastewater, waste management and recycling, renewable energy and electricity, security, fire protection, and smart city solutions.

Following a successful opening day attended by thousands of professional visitors from Indonesia and overseas, Indo Water 2026 Expo & Forum features a fully occupied exhibition area spanning 20,000 square meters, with more than 700 participating companies from 23 countries. On the second day, the exhibition continues to present a range of strategic agendas, from business matchmaking and technology demonstrations to industry forums focusing on strengthening cross-sector collaboration to advance sustainable resource management.

As a pioneer of Indonesia’s international water and wastewater industry exhibition for 25 years, this year’s edition is also supported by more than 30 ministries, government institutions, associations, academics, and strategic partners collaborating to present forums, seminars, training sessions, and educational programs. This broad support further strengthens Indo Water’s position as a platform that connects stakeholders in advancing the implementation of solutions and technologies across various strategic sectors.

Waste to Energy Forum Promotes Collaboration for Sustainable Waste Management

The Waste to Energy Forum, themed “Enhancing National Efforts Through Regional Governance & Yield Innovation,” was officially opened by the Director General of Regional Administration Development, Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Drs. Safrizal, Z.A., M.Si. The forum highlighted the importance of shifting the waste management paradigm from a disposal-oriented approach focused on landfills toward upstream management through reduce, reuse, and recycle, as well as the development of various alternatives for converting waste into resources and energy.

In his presentation, Safrizal emphasized the important role of local governments in establishing effective waste management systems, ranging from developing regulations and strengthening institutional capacity and funding to providing infrastructure and facilitating cooperation with offtakers and business players. The development of waste-to-energy initiatives also requires strong regional governance and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure that such initiatives can become part of a long-term solution for waste management.

The ASEAN Recycling Summit 3.0 Strengthens Circular Economy Implementation

As one of the key agendas in the waste management and recycling sector, The ASEAN Recycling Summit 3.0, organized by the Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association (ADUPI), featured discussions on developments in the plastic recycling industry, the implementation of the circular economy, and strengthened regional collaboration to build a more sustainable and competitive recycling ecosystem.

The event was officially opened by Mr. Kwok Fuk Seng, Ambassador of Singapore to the Republic of Indonesia, and attended by the Vice Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Diaz Hendropriyono, along with stakeholders from the government, industry, associations, academia, and ASEAN partners.

On the occasion, Diaz emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to increase Indonesia’s recycling rate. He noted that the forum provides an important platform to strengthen such cooperation, particularly in promoting waste segregation practices. “I want to emphasize again how important this event is because our recycling rate is actually still relatively low. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment is ready to collaborate with ADUPI and Napindo on what we can work together on to increase our recycling rate,” he said. This is in line with the government’s target to ensure that 100 percent of the country’s waste is properly managed by 2029.

Meanwhile, Christine Halim, Chairwoman of the Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association (ADUPI), emphasized that plastic waste and the circular economy can no longer be viewed solely as environmental issues, but are also closely linked to industrial development, technological innovation, job creation, emissions reduction, and strengthening sustainable raw material supply chains.

A Range of Supporting Activities Complements the Second and Final Days of the Exhibition

In addition to the two main forums, activities across the exhibition area on the second day were highlighted by business matching sessions and demonstrations of various solutions and technologies presented by exhibitors. Supporting programs also included the talkshow “Security Management System in High Risk Building” with the Indonesian Security Guard Professional Association (APSI), along with various sessions at the Spotlight Zone.

In the fire protection and rescue sector, the Jakarta Provincial Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) once again conducted a Live Demonstration featuring a simulation of an interior vehicle fire. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment continued its Coaching Clinic, the Indonesian Water Association (IdWA) once again presented IdWA Training as a platform for consultation and education, while dozens of Technical Product Presentation sessions were also held. These four programs will continue through the final day of the exhibition.

The exhibition series will continue until Thursday, 13 August 2026, featuring the Indonesia International Water Forum in collaboration with the Association of Environmental Engineering Alumni of ITB (IATL-ITB), the forum “Implementation of Performance-Based Fire Protection Planning for Buildings in Indonesia & Fire Safety of Electric Vehicles” in collaboration with the Indonesian Fire and Rescue Foundation (IFRF), as well as the Spotlight Zone session “Driving Hydrogen Transition through Student Innovation” by Antasena of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). The session will feature the Hydrogen Motorcycle, winner of 1st Place at the PLN Innovation & Competition in Electricity (PLN ICE) 2024, which has also been showcased at IPA Convex 2026 and the Global Hydrogen Ecosystem Summit & Exhibition (GHES).

Continuing its commitment to supporting the growth of Indonesia’s water and wastewater technology industry and its supporting sectors, Napindo also announced that Indo Water, Indo Waste & Recycling, Indo Renergy & Electric, Indo Security, Indo Firex, Rescue & Disaster, and Indonesia International Smart City 2027 Expo & Forum will return on 24–26 August 2027 at the new venue, Nusantara International Convention & Exhibition (NICE), PIK 2, Tangerang, Indonesia.

The upcoming edition is expected to further strengthen the exhibitions’ role as a collaborative platform that brings together solutions, technologies, and partnership opportunities for stakeholders from Indonesia and abroad.
