Jakarta, June 2026 — Entering a new phase of international industry expansion within the global defence landscape, Indo Defence 2027 Expo & Forum further strengthen its vision of becoming a leading regional platform for defence industry collaboration. By fostering international engagement, promoting technology exchange, and facilitating strategic partnerships, the exhibition contributes to the advancement of Indonesia’s defence industry ecosystem within the broader global landscape.

Indonesia is strengthening its position as a future regional aerospace maintenance hub through the government’s plan to develop a dedicated Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility for C-130 Hercules aircraft at Kertajati International Airport. As no comparable Hercules maintenance facility currently exists within the ASEAN region, the initiative is expected to support growing aircraft servicing demand across Asia-Pacific while reinforcing Indonesia’s role within the regional aerospace industry. The development is further supported by the planned establishment of 84.2 hectare Aerospace Park dedicated to aviation maintenance and logistics activities. As the Asia-Pacific MRO market continues to grow, this initiative is also expected to create broader opportunities for investment, industrial collaboration, and long-term aerospace industry growth in Indonesia.

Supporting this direction, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, also stated that Kertajati is being developed into an integrated aerospace industry hub through the development of Aerospace Park and expanded collaboration between BIJB Kertajati and Indonesian aerospace industry.

Recent developments in Indonesia’s defence sector have reflected the country’s commitment to accelerating defence modernisation and advancing long-term strategic capabilities. Earlier this month, President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing national defence capacity through the procurement of advanced aircraft and strategic defence systems as part of Indonesia’s broader defence transformation agenda. The ongoing effort is expected to drive greater demand for advanced technologies, industrial cooperation, and capability development across Indonesia’s defence ecosystem.

Further reinforcing this momentum, President Prabowo officially handed over six fighter jets, missile systems, radar equipment, and additional strategic defence assets to the Indonesian Military (TNI). Beyond strengthening operational readiness, the development highlights the growing importance of international partnerships, technology exchange, and industry collaboration in supporting Indonesia’s long-term defence objectives. As defence stakeholders increasingly seek opportunities for cooperation and innovation, platforms that facilitate business engagement and global industry connections continue to play an important role in supporting the sector’s growth.
