Jakarta, March 2026 — As global attention toward maritime technology and sustainable maritime industries continues to grow, Indo Marine 2027 Expo & Forum continues to strengthen its role as a strategic platform connecting Indonesia’s maritime sector with international industry leaders, technology innovators, and defence stakeholders.

Indonesia’s maritime and defence sectors continue to evolve as part of the country’s broader military modernization agenda, supported by ongoing efforts to strengthen maritime security, naval capabilities, and defence technology development. The 2026 budget is estimated at around Rp185 trillion, marking an increase from approximately Rp166 trillion in 2025, as the government moves to strengthen capabilities and support long term modernization targets. The allocation will cover the maintenance of warships and naval vessels, launcher systems, as well as the maintenance of combat and tactical vehicles. These measures reflect Indonesia’s continued commitment to strengthening national defence capacity and maintaining operational readiness across the armed forces, particularly in safeguarding the country’s vast maritime and archipelagic waters.

In addition to strengthening maritime defence capabilities, Indonesia is also advancing the development of domestically produced defence technologies. The Ministry of Defence, through its research and development agency, has introduced Coastal Surveillance Radar systems designed to improve the monitoring and surveillance of Indonesia’s maritime areas. Developed as part of domestic technological innovation, the system is designed to enhance detection capabilities for both human activity and vehicle movements, while supporting the monitoring and supervision of national maritime territories. The technology is expected to support the operational needs of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) in safeguarding national waters and strengthening maritime domain awareness, while also highlighting the growing role of domestic innovation and collaboration between defence research institutions and industry.

These developments underline the growing importance of industry platforms that can connect global maritime innovation with practical industry needs. In this context, The 8th Indonesia's Official Maritime Security, Safety, and Marine Environment Event serves as a strategic platform to align international technological advancements with the evolving requirements of Indonesia’s maritime sector while supporting industry readiness for future growth and technological development.

Amid this evolving industry landscape, Indo Marine will attend a global maritime defence exhibition in Singapore on 25–27 March 2026. The visit aims to strengthen industry engagement, exchange market insights, and introduce Indo Marine Expo & Forum as a strategic gateway to Indonesia and Southeast Asia’s maritime market.

Indo Marine Expo & Forum will feature expert level seminars, industry forums, and technical presentations that address key challenges and opportunities facing the maritime sector. The exhibition will also showcase product exhibitions and product demonstrations of advanced marine technologies.

To further reinforce this role, the exhibition will introduce two new dedicated pavilions designed to strengthen collaboration and capability development within Indonesia’s national defence ecosystem. The Innovation Zone, presented in collaboration with the Defence Technology Agency (Batekhan), will support the downstreaming and commercialisation of national defence research, encourage collaboration between research institutions and industry players, and provide visibility for emerging defence technology enterprises. Complementing this initiative, the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Zone, in partnership with the Defence Maintenance Agency (Baharwat), will highlight national MRO capabilities while facilitating engagement with international partners and technical collaborators, supporting Indonesia’s broader objective to strengthen its position within the regional defence maintenance ecosystem.

Indo Marine, incorporating with Indo Defence and Indo Aerospace Expo & Forum, will take place on 12–15 May 2027 at Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) PIK 2, Tangerang, Indonesia, as part of Indonesia’s Official Tri-Service Defence, Aerospace, Maritime, and Security Event. The event brings together global industry leaders, technology providers, government representatives, and defence stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities and support the continued development of Indonesia and Southeast Asia’s maritime industries.
